blocking in a head drawing


this video goes out to Donald from Germany who asked about what I keep in mind when I'm drawing a portrait head from life. Then Luciano and I had fun coloring it in!

thankyou for dedicating that video to me - really appreciate it :)

I like the eyebrow to ear angle-line and the circle for the chin.
I tend to underestimate the chin area so to put a circle may help.
The portrait looks right.

and yes you're right, I can underestimate the length of the face too, so often what I thought was going to be the jawline actually has to move a half an inch down once I find all the construction points down the face...
